This ancient Japanese healing art is a very safe, gentle, non invasive but effective form of energy healing.
At times of stress our energy can get low, leading to more stress and potentially causing us to be more prone to sickness. Reiki addresses the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level of being, and may promote the body’s natural healing process by increasing its supply of life-force and helping clear the energy fields of any blockage, bringing the body back into balance and harmony.
Unlike massage, this therapy doesn’t rely on physical manipulation, but it involves laying the hands on or just above the body, depending on each individual case.
During the treatment a sense of warmth, peace and calm is usually experienced and the client is left with a feeling of profound relaxation and revival, refreshed and regenerated, as the senses are a bit heightened.
Reiki may help alleviate tension, stress and stress-related conditions, anxiety and depression, accelerate the body's self-healing abilities, improve sleep, reduce blood pressure; it can also be of help with some chronic conditions (asthma, eczema, headaches, etc.) and support the immune system. At the same time, it promotes spiritual growth and emotional clearing.
This gentle type of healing can also be used alongside other types of therapies, including medical, to help alleviate side effects and promote recovery.
I tend to add a bit of Reiki into all my therapies, just because it is a big part of my daily life and simply flows easily. However, I am always happy combine any other treatments with a Reiki healing session, incorporating more of this precious energy.
